Guidelines For Kids Are Worth A MillionTM Technology
Grants Spring 2001
Overview
Kids Are Worth A MillionTM is a community-wide effort to bring needed technology to the students of the Carlsbad Unified School District. The Carlsbad Educational Foundation "Kids Are Worth A Millionä" project is seeking proposals from Carlsbad Unified School District staff and schools for technology projects that will extend and enhance student access and use of technology in learning. Who May Apply
Applications will be received from individuals,
teams, or school-wide from any Carlsbad Unified School District school; however,
the application must be reviewed and signed by the principal with appropriate
assurances as noted on the application. Criteria

Supports,
enhances, or enriches the curriculum. · Expand the use of technology through new and innovative applications, uses and projects. ·
Provides
a wide range of students the opportunity to use technology. ·
Shows
insight and/or creativity into the use of technology to improve student
learning. Expectations
·
Are
thoroughly and thoughtfully completed, clearly addressing all items. · Are typed (no hand written applications).·
Clearly
state the type and quantity of equipment needed. ·
Describe
in detail precisely how the use of the proposed technology will enhance
students’ understanding of the given subject area and/ or how this will
further the students’ educational experience. Final funding decisions rest solely with the Carlsbad
Educational Foundation. In addition, the Carlsbad Educational Foundation may set
conditions and limitations upon the funding of any grant. In accepting a grant, the grantee, the school,
and the district must agree, within limitations set by rights of privacy, to
provide access and documentation to the Carlsbad Educational Foundation for the
purpose of evaluation and promotional purposes to the use of the technology by
students and teachers. Submission of Proposal
A completed, typed application (9 copies) should be
sent to Carlsbad Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 205,Carlsbad, CA 92018
postmarked by Friday March 23, 2001. Applications
postmarked after that date might not be considered.
